City Management | City of Draper

The City Manager carries out the policies and programs established by the Draper City Council. The manager works closely with the mayor, city councilmembers and department directors to oversee the day-to-day operations of the city.

Mike Barker - City Manager

Mike Barker is the Draper City Manager. He previously served as the City Attorney starting in 2015.

Mike has served in local government since 1997, first as an Assistant City Attorney with Orem City and then as Chief Legal Counsel for the Unified Police Department before coming to Draper.

He received his Juris Doctorate from the J. Reuben Clark Law School in 1993.

Kellie Challburg, Assistant City Manager

Assistant City Manager Kellie Challburg has worked for Draper City since 2015. Previously she worked for Murray City and Cottonwood Heights City. She began working with the City Council in Murray City and started with Draper as an Executive Assistant to the Mayor/ Council and City Manager. She later served as Chief of Staff for several years.

Kellie has represented Draper City on multiple boards, including past Chair for the Women in Business for the South Valley Chamber, liaison for the Diversity Committee, and the Gold Star Families Memorial Committee.

Kellie has lived in the area most of her life, graduating from Alta High and Brigham Young University. She is married to Gary and has four wonderful children.
