Victim Services
The Draper Police Department, Draper City Prosecutor, and the City of Draper are concerned with the extent of crimes committed in our city and how they can affect victims, citizens, and the community. Some normal reactions to the trauma of crisis and crime can include:
- Shock and disbelief
- Confusion and numbness
- Depression
- Anger
- A sense of helplessness
- Restlessness or sleeplessness
- Change in appetite
- Heightened awareness or startling easily
- Increased fear
- Mood swings
- Other physical and emotional reactions
The Victim Advocate program will respond to crime victims to provide crisis intervention and support.
Our Mission
The program's mission is to provide services and resources to victims of violent crime. By identifying strategies to help victims be safe, and by providing contact information for community partners to find counseling, legal assistance, shelter, and other services, crime victims and their families can begin re-establishing normal routines.
Criminal Justice Process
The Victim Advocate Program can also support victims through the criminal justice process. Crime victims can request an explanation of procedures and information about the case. Additional information can be found with the links below:
